From Sweet Daily Scripture Together To None
I want to talk about faith in marriage and how important it is to stay with God, stay close to God in your marriage. When I started dating my ex-husband, we were making an effort, an honest effort, to have a relationship with God and to keep God first by reading the Bible with each other, praying with each other, almost daily at the beginning. It’s, you know how new love is, everything’s fresh and new.
But then as time went on, that new love faded and so did the Bible reading, so did the praying together, and eventually, it just completely and totally stopped. We were not reading the Bible at all together, or even praying together. That is when the trouble started, when we left that door open to the enemy by not guarding our marriage with the word of God daily as we were before we got married.
God first and having God in the midst of your marriage and working with God to keep you and your partner together is vital. So keep him there by reading the Word of God together, praying together. If you can’t pray or read the word with your mate, then pray and read for them. Do it for him, and God will honor your effort and keep you together for the long run if that is the will of God for your relationship. These are my divorce diaries.
