My New Song Release: Born In One Day 48

I wrote my first song when I was ten. It was called I Still Love Him.

The chorus went like this:

I still love him, love him not.

And I wrote a first verse to the song that goes like this:

Oh, that boy is so cute.

I asked him if he loved me.

He said yes, but I still

Don’t get no loving from him.

Then it goes back to the chorus. When I finished writing this song, I wanted to perform it for my family. So I taught it to my two cousins my age, and we all sang the song for my family. It was a success! We got ovations. We got claps. I say all this to say that songwriting has been in my being since I was a child, but was untapped.

I never really saw myself as a singer-songwriter growing up, not until the Lord called me to sing for Him in the year 2000, when I was standing in my dorm room on campus in Rochester, New York while attending Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School.

I heard the Lord speak to me. He said, “You’re going to sing for me.” I thought, ‘What?’ And He said it again: You’re going to sing for me, and I thought, Okay. Ever since then, I’ve been doing what I know to do to prepare for singing for the Lord.

I’m happy to say that this calling is coming to fruition in my life right now. I’m releasing my first music single, Born In One Day 48 on August 28, 2026. I’ve written many songs, and shared them over the years. However, this is the first one that I actually wrote, composed, sang, played the guitar, and produced. Please have grace with me as I grow in my musical prowess. I hope you really enjoy listening to my new song!
