Meditation: Break It To Them Easy, Be Authentic
Concentration: Thinking About What You Have to Say
Have you ever had a hard conversation where you had to think about how you were going to say it? How you’re going to tell them? How you’re going to let them down easy? How you’re going to say something that you knew they wouldn’t take the right way?
That’s what today’s meditation is here to help you do, focus on what you will say in a way that could possibly alleviate the offense that you presume what you have to say will cause.
Focus: Tips to Say What You Have to Say the Right Way
Here are some tips to help you.
- Start with a compliment. Say something nice and light, a feel-good starter.
- Get to the problem. Be honest, but in a kind way, in a way that will show your concern and care for the person.
- Accept the consequences. Accept the response. You don’t have to agree. Hear what they have to say. Acknowledge, you heard them, and end the conversation.
A mutual understanding has been established, and the airways are now open. That’s the beginning to accomplishing the goal of solving the problem.
